08 Aug Floating for Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia is a musculoskeletal disorder that effects 2% of the population, the ratio of women to men being 9:1. People who have this disorder suffer from sever muscular pain that is often described as a widespread dull ache throughout the body that rarely subsides. The lack of adequate rest and increased amount of stress occurs because of pain and causes a magnesium deficiency in the body, along with an immune deficiency.
As one who knows the nature of floating, you may already be able to tell that floatation therapy is the perfect environment to relieve the symptoms of fibromyalgia. In many cases of this disorder, its easy to become discouraged – especially when the same medicine and treatment keeps being prescribed with little progress and in some cases, serious side effects. The float pod is a miracle to those who discover its power in pain management and relief. Because of the nature of floating, one may experience (but is not limited to): an overall sense of pain relief, accelerated healing of injuries, stress relief, better sleep, increased production of endorphins and serotonin, and relief from muscular & skeletal tension (given the lack of gravitational pressure). All of which equate to an overall increase in happiness.
There have been many studies done on fibromyalgia patients and floatation therapy and how people have responded with the treatment. In many cases patients experience a full day up to a few days of serious pain relief… that number increases the more they float.
The beauty here is that there are no chemicals involved! Just a simple combination of Epsom salt, water, and a peaceful spa environment.
If you or anyone you know are suffering from Fibromyalgia, we invite you to come and float with us to see how your body responds! With a disorder that is said to have no cure… anything and everything is worth a try.
